Helsinki – the former hometown of Tom of Finland - is mostly famous for its design, architecture and high technology. Helsinki is proudly one of the Nordic capitals with a lively LGBTQ culture. We are also proud to be a LGBTQ friendly hotel. We have a zero-tolerance to any discrimination and we want to take into consideration all kinds of guests. It is our honor to make you feel welcome and provide you with a high-quality service.
Open-minded to everyone
Helsinki is full of culture, places and activities, which are popular among anyone. Whether it is bars, clubs, restaurants, gender-neutral activism, art galleries, fashion or design that you’re interested in - Helsinki got it.
Saunas are a big part of Finnish culture and most of the public ones are in common use of everybody. Nonetheless, there are some saunas popular among gays, too.
Helsinki is a very open-minded city what it comes to clubs and parties. Many are not particularly advertising themselves as LGBTQ clubs and parties, but their customers consist of artists, fashion designers and other urban people, hence, it does not matter what gender or sexual orientation you are. Nevertheless, there are bars and nightclubs that have a rainbow flag hanging outside as a sign that they are especially for LGBTQ folks and gay friendly.
Helsinki is a member of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA).
Our young spirited team is trained to the highest possible levels – to deliver welcoming and warm customer service to all guests. Welcome to Gay Friendly Helsinki.
